Shorecom was contracted to provide
the structured cabling for all of the new buildings
constructed to support the new F-22 fighter airplane
being based at Langley Air force Base. The buildings
include operations, hangars, maintenance and repair
facilities. The installation includes numerous networks
utilizing both copper and fiber infrastructure.
Outerbanks Traffic Signal Project

Shorecom installed more than twelve
miles of multistrand single mode fiber in the Outerbanks
of North Carolina for the NCDOT's new traffic signal
system. The project required trenching and boring
of two inch conduit between handholes and traffic
cabinets. Fiber was terminated in enclosures within
the cabinets and patched into fiber optic media
converters for communication and synchronization
of the traffic signal.

Shorecom installed a completely new
fiber infrastructure to support the airport's new
parking collection and management system. The system
required fiber installed at each parking exit and
entrance location. Thousands of feet of fiber was
installed throughout the terminals and parking areas
to complete the infrastructure. Shorecom has also
installed the structured cabling systems for the
newly renovated ticket counters and office areas.

City of Norfolk
Shorecom has separate annual contracts
with the cities of Norfolk and Chesapeake, VA to
provide structured cabling and outside plant solutions
for city properties. These contracts encompass new
construction and MAC's (moves, adds and changes)
to existing infrastructures.
